In preparation for the upcoming school year Athens Wendy’s restaurants, Athens County Children Services, and Power 105-WXTQ-FM are excited to begin the 17th annual Lace Up for Kids; a back to school program dedicated to sending area children back to school with new gym shoes. As a result of Lace Up for Kids, it is expected that over 300 Athens County children will be ready to take on a new academic school year with a new pair of shoes.

Fall Events for Ohio's Foster Youth

In the fall, Ohio’s foster youth assemble at two important statewide events in Columbus. The quarterly OYAB (Ohio Youth Advisory Board) meeting brings together foster youth, former foster youth and adult supporters from all counties in an effort to make change in the foster care system by working with legislators in Ohio and Washington, D.C.
