Family Support Unit

In 2010, parent mentors worked with an average of 16 families per month, providing them with intensive services to eliminate or reduce the issues that have led to the family's involvement with the agency. Family support caseworkers supervised/monitored 1373 visits at the visitation center and completed 176 transports. School social workers served an average of 33 families per month, receving 72 referrals over the course of 2010.

The Family Support Unit provides a variety of services which are voluntary and provided at no cost to the families of Athens County.

  • Parenting Services
  • Transportation
  • Homemakers
  • Visitation
  • Brief therapeutic interventions

 The Family Support Unit has four sub-units: visitation, parent mentors, Domestic Relations Clinic, and School Social Workers.
