The first annual Foster Care Awareness Walk will take place on Friday, May 8, 2009. The two mile walk will promote awareness and raise interest in the need for foster care in the community.

The pinwheels represent the 1,430 people in Athens County who raised their voices to protect a child in 2008.

Athens County Children Services and the Market on State are pleased to sponsor the 20th Annual Santa Tree Christmas Project.

Athens County Children Services hosted their annual Benefit Trail Ride and Poker Run on Sunday, November 9, 2008 at Begley's ATV Campground located in New Straitsville.

Each November, we celebrate National Adoption Awareness Month to focus attention on the increasing numbers of children waiting to be adopted. These children desperately need families of their own.

It is uncomfortable to face up to, but in our efforts to turn around Ohio, we cannot continue to turn away from our communities' most severe problems and from the poorest of the poor among us.

May is National Foster Care Month, and Athens County Children Services wants to take this opportunity to thank our foster parents for the work they do caring for Athens children and families.
