Kimberly, Philip, and Carrie
Date of Birth:|

You can't help but smile when you are with this sibling group of three. Kimberly, Philip, and Carrie are full of personality and lots of energy. They enjoy spending time together at parks during visits and need a very dedicated and attentive family with whom they can live and grow together. The sisters currently live together in the same foster home and visit monthly with their brother, who lives in another foster home. This sibling group needs a family that can provide clear structure, boundaries, and guidance as they learn how to live in the same home. Kimberly is 16 years old and loves socializing, clothes, music, and attending church. Kimberly does have an IEP for reading, writing, and math. Kimberly loves glamour, "bling", and anything that sparkles, but she has also expressed interest in trying out some new sports to see if she is any good. Do you have basketball skills you can teach her? Do you have a tool shed or need help with projects? Philip loves to keep himself busy tinkering with tools and making things with his hands. Although Philip is 13 years old, he needs close supervision as he is impulsive and easily frustrated. Philip has an IEP for reading, writing, math, and language, and attends speech therapy. Carrie is an outgoing, friendly, creative 11-year old girl who loves board games and being outside. Carrie is a "blue jeans girl"! She enjoys singing, attending church with her sister, and she loves scrap booking and working on her lifebook. Carrie is developmentally on target, but needs some accommodations to help her focus at school. Despite being the youngest, Carrie was somewhat of a caregiver to her siblings in the past. However, she has adjusted to loving life as a child since being in foster care. Carrie recently donated her beautiful long hair to Locks of Love and is already planning her next donation. Philip and Carrie are very bonded to each other and are known to protect one another. Kim and Carrie play and argue like sisters. The children have an older brother who is placed seperately, and contact with him is not recommended at this time. Individual and sibling counseling will need to continue as they grieve the loss of their birth family, work through issues from their past and work toward the goal of adoption. Kimberly and Philip take medication to help with their moods and behaviors. These children love attention and affection and need a family who will help the, heal and blossom. Could you be that family? Subsidies are available. Agency: Athens County Children Services |
