Birthday: August, 1992
Chips, pizza, baseball, football and his X-Box are some of Ryder’s favorite things. This active youngster loves to play outside with his friend and enjoys being involved in church. Walker, Texas Ranger is his favorite TV program. Ryder is both charming and sociable.
Both of Ryder’s birth parents are deceased, and he is still struggling with those losses as well as an early history of neglect. He takes medication for emotional and behavioral issues and is in regular classes but has an IEP and gets special assistance for two classes. His favorite subject is math and his least favorite subject is reading.
Likes hanging out with his foster father doing “guy stuff” such as tinkering in the garage or working in the yard. Ryder also likes to fish and plays drums in the school band.
Ryder wears glasses to treat a “lazy eye.” He attends counseling weekly and will need a family that will be willing to participate in therapy with him. Ryder will probably need a two parent family where he is the youngest or only child due to his high needs for adult attention. Ryder is in the permanent custody of Athens County Children Services and is legally available for adoption. Subsidies are available.
